Online Marquette Method Instruction
One-on-one, online instruction for women and couples who want objective, hormone-based NFP without guesswork — with nurse-led support for postpartum, irregular cycles, and real family life.
Why women choose Marquette
Once a day, you use a simple at-home Clearblue monitor to read your key fertility hormones. That gives you objective information about where you are in your cycle — applied through charting protocols backed by decades of published research.
A simple, few-minutes-a-day rhythm: take a reading with the fertility monitor and note it on your chart. Each day gives you a plain answer about where you are in your cycle.
Marquette reads your actual hormones — estrogen and LH — rather than relying only on subjective signs you have to interpret. That objectivity is what makes it so reassuring.
Whether you're avoiding pregnancy, trying to conceive, postpartum, breastfeeding, navigating irregular cycles, or preparing for marriage, the method adapts with you.
The evidence
The Marquette Method is up to 99% effective at avoiding pregnancy with correct use, in peer-reviewed research from the Marquette University Institute for Natural Family Planning.

More than a method
Sometimes charting surfaces patterns worth a closer look — a luteal phase that runs short, signs that point to a possible hormone imbalance, or cycles that don't behave the way you'd expect. Most instructors can only tell you to see your doctor.
At Cana, our team includes a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Charting alone isn't a diagnosis — but if your chart raises questions, we can help you understand what it may mean and, when it's the right fit, guide you toward Restorative Reproductive Care as a next step.

Common questions
With correct use, published research shows 98–99% effectiveness for avoiding pregnancy — comparable to hormonal contraception. Method effectiveness depends on correct application, which is exactly what one-on-one instruction and a year of follow-up support ensure.
The Clearblue Advanced Fertility Monitor is purchased separately. It's a one-time device you buy directly from the retailer, and it isn't included in the $199 instruction fee. You can find the monitor and strips we recommend on our Marquette Method Supplies page. You don't need it for your free consultation, but it's helpful to have it (and to skim the user manual) before your full instruction session so the device feels familiar.
Yes — this is one of Marquette's greatest strengths. The hormone monitor provides objective readings that cut through the ambiguity of early postpartum return of fertility, making it far more reliable than mucus-only methods during breastfeeding.
All instruction is conducted online via video call. Our instructors serve clients nationwide. Sessions are scheduled at times that work for your life — evenings and weekends included. You'll receive written materials and follow-up support after your session.
Irregular cycles are one of the primary reasons women choose Marquette over other methods. The objective hormone data makes the method workable even when cycle length or mucus patterns are hard to read. Our instructors have specific experience supporting women with PCOS, thyroid issues, and other cycle irregularities.
Yes. The Marquette Method was developed at a Catholic university and is fully consistent with the Church's teaching on natural family planning. All Cana instructors share this conviction and can speak to the theological as well as medical dimensions of NFP.
Yes. Many engaged couples complete their NFP requirement with us. Just let us know during instruction and we'll provide a certificate of completion for your diocese or parish, at no extra cost.
Not yet, and that's a deliberate choice. The Clearblue protocols we teach carry years of published, peer-reviewed effectiveness research. Mira's protocols are still provisional. When you're making decisions this important, we'd rather hand you well-studied instructions than promising ones. We follow the research closely and will offer Mira the day the evidence earns it.
